Setting

Description

Name Enter the text that will be displayed for the Exchange Account on the devices
Description Enter additional text that clarifies the purpose of this group of Exchange settings
Server Address The address of the Sentry in most cases
Use SSL Select this to use secure encrypted connections
Domain The domain configured for the Exchange server
ActiveSync User Name The default of $USERID$ is pre-populated in this field
ActiveSync User Email The default of $EMAIL$ is pre-populated in this field
ActiveSync Password The default of $PASSWORD$ is pre-populated in this field, $NULL$ should be used for Kerberos authentication
Identity Certificate Select from the dropdown menu the certificate created for authentication if using certificate or Kerberos authentication
Using Sentry Standalone No longer an option on the latest versions of the VSP, this was used for iOS devices that were running an iOS version earlier than 3.0
Choose the Items to Synchronize Not for iOS or Android:  Select the Outlook items to be synchronized; Contacts, Calendar, Email, and Tasks
Email sync-download the Past … Not for iOS 4.0: Specify the maximum amount of email to synchronize each time by selecting an option from the drop-down list.
Disable Cut / Copy / Paste for Android Android only option: Prevents use of the cut, copy, and paste commands in Exchange.  This feature is available only if Nitrodesk’s Touchdown for MobileIron is installed on the device.
iOS 5 and later Specific Settings  
Block move / forward messages to other email accounts Enables the iOS 5+ feature that prevents users from moving email messages to other email accounts or forwarding email from accounts other than the originating account.
Block email access to 3rd party apps Prevents third-party apps from using the account for email access
Enable S/MIME Enables support for S/MIME encryption
S/MIME Signing identity Enables the selection of a certificate as the signing identity.  If no certificate is selected, then the device user will be prompted to select from the certificates already on the device.
S/MIME Encryption identity Enables selection of a certificate as the encryption identity.  If no certificate is selected, then the device user will be prompted to select from the certificates already on the device.
TouchDown Specific Settings  
License If NitroDesk’s TouchDown app is being used to manage Exchange on Android devices, the license key received from NitroDesk can be entered here.  The license key will be provisioned with the other Exchange settings in this profile.
ActiveSync Settings  
Peak times Select the preferred synchronization approach for peak times
Off-peak times Select the preferred synchronization approach for off-peak times
Use above settings while roaming Specify whether to apply synchronization preferences while roaming
Send / receive when I click send Specify whether queued messages should be sent and received whenever the user sends a message
Peak days Specify which days should be considered peak days
Start time Specify the beginning of the peak period for all peak days
End time Specify the end of the peak period for all peak days
