Hello all! My good buddy Jim and I have decided that there are just too many times that our friends should get together and just don't. Parties can be too hectic or stressful. A lot of times they're even hard to plan for. And summer weekends are usually so packed with livin' it's hard to even squeeze in bathroom breaks. So we wanted something casual. A laid-back way for our friends to hang out. And since we love going to the movies so much, we came up with this: Every Tuesday at the Silver Cinema - Budget South (about ¼ mile north of Layton Ave. on HWY 100) the movies are only $1.00.  That's right, ONE MEASLY BUCK! Leftover laundry quarters! Heck, you can't even rent a DVD for that! So what we've been doing is going to the 7pm movie (ok, so obviously it's sometimes at 7:15 or 7:05... but you get the idea). We get there a little early (because the line is usually pretty long on Tuesdays) and then get check out a flick. Then, we usually migrate over to the Forum Restaurant down the street for coffee/soda/etc. afterwards. This enables us to get together with our friends, have a casual weekly meeting time and place, that way we can all stay in touch like we know we all want to! Plus, if the movie sucks, we have something mutual to bitch about, if the movie is hilarious, we have something to laugh about, etc. Now, I want you all to keep in mind that you are under no obligation to come to this every week. If you can't make it, if your grandmother dies, if you have to work, if you can't find a sitter, if you can't miss the latest vapid reality series, even if you just don't feel like it... don't bother killing yourself to make it. Stay home! There will be another one next week! And we'll be at that one, too! This isn't supposed to be something people stress over, if you want to come, come. If you want to be a couch potato or get a nap, stay home. Even if you want to only come for the movie and skip the Forum afterwards, that's great. We'd be happy to look at the back of your head in the theatre for a couple hours. No guilt trips. No nagging. Just an informal weekly email group. Some of the people that will be coming, you will know. Those of you that know me well, realize that my group of friends is diverse at best... so many of the people that will be coming, you won't know. But they're all cool people... otherwise I wouldn't count them friends! So, if you want to catch up on old times, if you want to see a stupid movie for leftover laundry change, or if you want to meet some new and interesting people...
